In Jessore, police arrested Jubadal leader Al Masud Rana after raiding his house and recovering seven cocktails, three petrol bombs, and several sharp weapons.
On Tuesday (25 November), at 6:30 AM, Jessore Kotwali Model Police conducted the raid in the Raipara area of the city. Al Masud Rana, the arrested Jubadal leader, is the son of Nazrul Islam from the Raja Bardakant Road area of Chachra Raipara, and the General Secretary of Ward 6 of the Youth League.
According to Jessore Kotwali Model Police’s OC Kazi Babul Hossain, the police received secret information early on Tuesday about the presence of bombs and weapons in Rana’s house. Acting on this tip-off, the police raided Rana’s house at 6:30 AM. During the questioning, Rana revealed that seven cocktails, three petrol bomb-like glass bottles, a knife, and two sickles were found in the backyard of the kitchen. The police are investigating whether these weapons belong to Rana.
OC Babul Hossain further stated that preparations are underway to file a case in this regard, and he will be presented in court later in the afternoon.
Sheikh Rabiul Islam Rabi, the Secretary-General of Jessore City Jubadal , said, “I have heard about the arrest of Al Masud Rana with weapons. He has been involved in politics for a long time. However, I believe he is being framed through a conspiracy.”
He added, “We are looking into the matter; the Jubadal never supports terrorists, and the party will not take responsibility for an individual’s actions.”
