From 8 am on Sunday to 8 am on Monday, one more person has died from dengue. During this period, 633 patients were admitted to hospitals.
This information was released on Tuesday (25 November) through a press statement by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
The statement said that in the past 24 hours, 82 patients were admitted in Barisal Division, 86 in Chattogram Division, 126 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporations), 136 in Dhaka North City, 81 in Dhaka South City, 47 in Khulna Division (outside city corporations), 40 in Mymensingh Division, 23 in Rajshahi Division, 6 in Rangpur Division, and 6 in Sylhet Division.
During the same period, 691 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country. This brings the total number of patients discharged this year to 88,949.
Since January 2024, a total of 91,602 patients have been admitted to hospitals, and 367 people have died from dengue this year.
For context, from January 1 to 31 December 2024, 101,214 patients were hospitalised due to dengue, with a total of 575 deaths. In 2023, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue and 321,179 were admitted to hospitals.
