Main Accused in Rape Case of Disabled Woman Arrested

Azizul Islam Molla (28), accused in the rape case of a disabled woman in Puthia, Rajshahi, has been arrested by RAB from the TIC area of Tongi Municipality in Gazipur. A team of RAB-5 conducted the operation on Wednesday night and apprehended him.

The arrested Azizul Molla is the son of Seraj Molla of Damdama village, Puthia. On Thursday (27 November), he was sent to jail through the court.

Sources reported that on 22 October, Azizul Molla raped a 25-year-old physically disabled woman at her home when she was alone in Damdama village, Puthia. Afterwards, he repeatedly raped her while intimidating her. On learning of the incident, the victim’s mother filed a case at Puthia Police Station on 28 October. Azizul had been absconding since the case was filed.

Based on confidential information, RAB learned that Azizul Molla was staying in the TIC area of Tongi, Gazipur. He was arrested during a night operation on Wednesday.
