Five-Day Twin Ijtema Begins in Tongi

At the World Ijtema ground in Tongi, Gazipur, a five-day twin Ijtema began on Friday after the Fajr prayer with the opening sermon. Organised by Shura-e-Nizam, the five-day Ijtema will conclude with the final supplication before noon on Tuesday, according to Habibullah Raihan, media coordinator of Shura-e-Nizam.

Habibullah Raihan said that this twin Ijtema is held every year as part of preparations for the main Ijtema. Both local and international devotees are participating, and various Chilla leaders will also attend. The preparation aims to ensure the successful conduct of the World Ijtema.

Tongi West Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Harun Or Rashid stated that the five-day twin Ijtema of Maulana Zubair’s followers has begun and will end on 2 December with supplication.

The OC added that extra police have been deployed around the grounds for the event. Illegal structures around the field have been cleared to facilitate the movement of devotees.
