Three Muggers Arrested in Cox’s Bazar During Special Police Operation

A team from Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station conducted a special operation late on Thursday night on the main road in front of the Burmese Government Primary School in the municipality. When they signalled a CNG auto-rickshaw travelling from the bus terminal towards Bazarghata to stop, the passengers attempted to flee. Police immediately chased them and arrested three muggers.

A body search later recovered a locally made LG firearm and one round of ammunition. According to Alok Biswas, Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) and Media Focal Point of Cox’s Bazar District Police, legal action has been taken against the arrested individuals.

The arrested are Saiful Islam alias Iqbal, son of the late Khorshed Alam from the P.T. School area of South Rumalia Chhara in Ward 7 of Cox’s Bazar town; Md Riduan Hossain, son of Md Yunus from Karim Sikdar Para of Ward 6 in Bharuakhali Union; and Md Fahim, son of Md Babul from the same village.
