A group of filmmakers from Chile are working on a new feature film that aims to shed light on the long-standing oppression, occupation, and human rights violations faced by Palestinians. The film will focus on the lives of the war-torn people of Gaza, their resistance, and the humanitarian crises they endure. The news was reported by Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera on Sunday, November 30.
A Story of Struggle and Resilience
The filmmakers have stated that the main inspiration behind the film is the resilience and determination of ordinary people struggling to survive amidst the harsh realities of war in Palestine. Through extensive research, interviews, and on-the-ground work, they are creating a story that will raise awareness about the Palestinian reality in Latin America and beyond.
According to the filmmakers, mainstream international media often silences the voices of Palestinians. Their film seeks to bring forth the untold stories of individuals who rise from the silence, highlighting ongoing human rights abuses, insecurity, and life amidst the ruins, all while portraying the hopeful spirit of the Palestinian people.
Raising Awareness Through Cinema
The filmmakers have created this project with the aim of showcasing it at international film festivals. They hope the film will offer audiences worldwide a fresh perspective on the Palestinian issue, enabling viewers to engage with the situation in a deeper and more personal way.
