Body of Missing Pregnant Woman Found in Pond, Husband and In-Laws Flee

In Muksudpur, Gopalganj, the body of 21-year-old pregnant housewife Iti Begum was found in a pond near her home seven days after she went missing. The body was discovered in a sack. Police suspect the incident as a murder. Following the event, the husband and in-laws have gone into hiding.

The body was recovered on Sunday (30 November) from a pond in Latifpur village, Gobindapur Union. Officer-in-Charge Mostofa Kamal of Muksudpur police confirmed the recovery.

Local sources said Iti Begum married Rasel Sheikh nearly three years ago. There had been marital disputes. She went missing on 24 November, and her husband filed a general diary at the police station on 27 November. The body was recovered seven days later.

OC Mostofa Kamal stated that the victim’s hands, feet, and face were bound with cloth. The body has been sent to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police are investigating the matter.
