Sania Sultana Liza has reached a significant milestone in her career, celebrating 17 years in the Bangladeshi music industry. Her journey began in 2008 when she won the CloseUp One competition, quickly establishing herself as a talented vocalist capable of captivating audiences with her emotive performances. Over nearly two decades, Liza has not only maintained her popularity but has also carved a unique space for herself, known for her versatility and commitment to artistic authenticity.
In recent years, Liza has expanded her professional role to include mentoring and judging upcoming talent. She currently serves as a judge on RTV Little Star: Agamir Kontho Shor, a platform dedicated to discovering promising young singers. Alongside experienced musicians Ferdous Wahid and Jiniya Jahan Lipa, Liza is helping to evaluate and guide contestants, ensuring that genuine talent is recognised and nurtured. She has remarked on the abundance of skilled young performers in the competition, expressing confidence that several remarkable voices will emerge from the show.
Musically, Liza continues to be highly active. Her latest release, ‘Nei Odhikar’, composed by Hridoy Khan, has garnered significant attention for its innovative composition and captivating video. Liza emphasises that her focus in recent years has shifted away from chasing online metrics, preferring instead to prioritise songs with emotional resonance and longevity. She explains, “Seventeen years in music feels surreal. I focus on music that will endure, that listeners will remember. ‘Nei Odhikar’ represents exactly that philosophy. Going forward, I intend to pursue projects beyond conventional genres, always ensuring that my personal preferences inform my work.”
Alongside her recording activities, Liza has performed in a series of concerts across major cities, including Dhaka and Chittagong. She notes that live performances remain integral to her artistic expression, stating that she is committed to engaging audiences with energetic and emotive shows.
Liza’s career demonstrates the intersection of talent, persistence, and thoughtful artistic choices.
