Midland Bank Donates Ambulance to Anjuman Mufidul Islam

Midland Bank PLC has donated an ambulance to Anjuman Mufidul Islam, a charitable organisation and one of the leading ambulance service providers in Dhaka, serving both patients and deceased persons within and outside the capital. This donation is an integral part of the Bank’s commitment to social well-being under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and has been provided from the Islami Banking Compensation Fund, according to a press release issued on a Friday.

Mr Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank, officially handed over the key to Mr Mohammad Azim Bakhsh and Alhaj Mohammad Aslam, who are Trustees and Vice Presidents of Anjuman Mufidul Islam. The handover ceremony was successfully held on Thursday, the 4th of December, at the bank’s head office.

Anjuman Mufidul Islam is widely known for providing free ambulance services in Dhaka and undertaking various other essential charitable activities for public welfare, as detailed in the release. The Bank’s contribution of an ambulance underscores its dedication to supporting vital community services, particularly in the realm of health and emergency transport. The provision of free ambulance services by Anjuman Mufidul Islam is of immense importance in a densely populated metropolitan area like Dhaka, where timely access to emergency transport can be critical. By funding this essential asset through its Islami Banking Compensation Fund, Midland Bank demonstrates a profound sense of accountability towards society, alongside its primary financial role. This humanitarian initiative reflects positively on the institution’s commitment to the populace.

Among the other dignitaries present at the ceremony were Mr Syed Lukman Ahmed, Joint Director (Branch) of Anjuman Mufidul Islam; Mr Md Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution and Chief Bancassurance Officer; Mr Didarul Islam, Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Mr Md Bajlur Rahman Khan, Head of CRM and Head of Sustainable Finance Unit; and Mr Nakul Chandra Debnath, Head of GSD of Midland Bank.
