During an appearance on the New Heights podcast in August—hosted by her fiancé, Travis Kelce—the 14-time Grammy winner revealed that her father had undergone a quintuple bypass to address five major blockages. She candidly described the “parent-child reversal” of the recovery process, detailing how she assisted him with mobility aids and home care after he spent years building play sets and cribs for her during her childhood.

Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association, lauded the singer’s commitment, noting that Swift’s influence extends far beyond the monetary value of the gift. Brown highlighted that cardiovascular disease affects nearly half of all American adults, and having a figure of Swift’s stature advocate for prevention and heart health awareness is “transformative.” She poignantly noted the synergy between the AHA’s mission and Swift’s signature “heart hands” gesture, a symbol now used by the organisation to honour those affected by heart disease.
