Special Cultural Evening at Shilpakala for Christmas

In the ongoing journey towards an inclusive Bangladesh, the role of religious and cultural festivals is paramount. Such celebrations foster social harmony, unity, and humanitarian values, acting as bridges between diverse communities. In this context, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is set to host a special cultural evening in celebration of Christmas, the most significant festival of the Christian community, on 25 December.

The event, organised jointly by the Shilpakala Academy and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, will take place on Wednesday, 24 December, at 6:00 pm on the Academy’s Nandan stage. Attendees will experience a programme that conveys messages of peace, social unity, and humanity, reflecting the true essence of the festive season.

The cultural showcase will feature a combination of devotional songs, kirtans, and diverse musical performances. Key performers include members of the Tejgaon Church Choir: Christopher Gomez, Dilip Mondal, Bijoy Gomez, Rexona Mondal, Jaya Gomez, Biba Gomez, and Subash Perich. Additionally, a solo performance by Juliet Sushmita Baroi promises to captivate audiences with her artistic expression.

Adding a modern musical dimension, live performances by the bands “Gethsemane Worship” and “F Minor” will further enrich the evening. Notably, the programme is open to all, encouraging participation from people of different communities and backgrounds.

Over the years, the Shilpakala Academy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, has consistently positioned religious and cultural festivals as platforms for creativity, compassion, and social cohesion. A summary of notable festivals held last year illustrates this commitment:
