July Warrior’ Surabhi Grey Arrested Over Alleged Extortion of 500 Million Taka

In a coordinated operation in Gazipur, law enforcement authorities apprehended 21-year-old Tahreema Jannat Suravi, a wanted individual reportedly linked to the so-called July uprising. Suravi faces multiple allegations, including making offensive and derogatory remarks about government advisers and the Chief of Army Staff on social media.

The arrest took place on Thursday, 25 December, at around 11:30 pm at her residence in the Tekpara area of Gopalpur, under Tongi East Police Station. Suravi is the daughter of Selim Mia, a resident of the same locality.

According to the police, a warrant had been issued for Suravi’s arrest following a case filed by Naimur Rahman Durjoy at Kaliakair Police Station. The case lists serious charges such as extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and blackmail. Authorities further allege that Suravi frequently posted offensive remarks about the Chief of Army Staff on various social media platforms, attracting widespread attention.

Tahreema Jannat Suravi herself has previously claimed to be a coordinator of the July 2024 public uprising, an event that drew significant controversy nationwide. Her activities have reportedly caused concern among law enforcement agencies, prompting a series of intelligence-gathering operations leading up to her arrest.

After being taken into custody, Suravi was handed over to the local police station. Officials confirmed that she will soon be presented before the court as part of ongoing legal procedures. Investigators are continuing to examine her alleged network and online activities to determine any further legal implications.
