ATM Services Introduced at Five Metro Rail Stations

In a significant step towards enhancing commuter convenience and expanding digital banking access, BRAC Bank has launched ATM services at five key stations along Dhaka’s MRT Line-6. The initiative is designed to provide fast, secure, and hassle-free banking facilities to thousands of daily metro rail passengers, while further strengthening the bank’s alternative banking channel network.

The newly installed ATMs are now fully operational at Pallabi, Mirpur-10, Farmgate, Shahbagh, and Bangladesh Secretariat metro stations—some of the busiest transit points in the capital. With these additions, metro rail users can access essential banking services round the clock without leaving their commuting routes.

Since its inauguration, the Dhaka Metro Rail has transformed urban mobility by reducing travel time and easing traffic congestion. By integrating modern banking infrastructure into this vital transport system, BRAC Bank has aligned its digital banking strategy with the evolving needs of city commuters. The ATMs offer 24-hour service, enabling passengers to manage their financial transactions conveniently at any time of day.

Beyond cash withdrawals, the technology-enabled machines provide a range of smart banking services. Customers can transfer funds, check account balances, withdraw cash without a card, and even perform bKash cash-out transactions. These features make the ATMs particularly valuable for busy urban residents who rely on quick, efficient financial solutions during their daily journeys.

The initiative has been implemented under a formal agreement between BRAC Bank and Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the organisation responsible for operating the metro rail system. The agreement was signed by Nazmur Rahim, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Alternative Banking Channels at BRAC Bank, and Faruk Ahmed, Managing Director of DMTCL.

The signing ceremony was attended by several senior officials from both organisations, including Brigadier General (Retd.) Md Abdul Wahab, Project Director of DMTCL; Khondoker Ehteshamul Kabir, Company Secretary of DMTCL; and senior executives from BRAC Bank such as Imtiaz Ahmed, Head of Alternate Delivery Channels, Nakib Zaman, Regional Head of Distribution Network, Khondaker Emdadul Haque, Head of Government Relations, and Cluster Manager Sabina Sarmine.

Commenting on the launch, Nazmur Rahim stated that integrating banking services into major commuting hubs is part of BRAC Bank’s broader vision to make financial services faster, smarter, and more accessible for urban customers. He added that the bank plans to continue expanding its ATM presence at key transport hubs and strategic locations nationwide.

Currently, BRAC Bank operates a robust alternative banking network across the country, comprising 329 ATMs, 103 Cash Recycling Machines (CRMs), and 68 Retail Cash Deposit Machines (RCDMs). The expansion at metro rail stations reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to strengthening financial inclusion and ensuring seamless banking access for customers across Bangladesh.
