The Met Office reports on Dhaka’s temperature situation

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has indicated that temperatures in Dhaka and its surrounding areas are likely to rise slightly over the coming hours, while the weather is expected to remain generally dry.

According to the forecast issued for the six-hour period from 7:00 am on Wednesday, 31 December, the sky over the capital may remain partially to largely foggy. Morning conditions are expected to include moderate to dense fog, potentially reducing visibility in some areas.

Light to moderate winds are anticipated, blowing from the north to north-west at a speed of 8 to 12 kilometres per hour. This wind pattern, combined with dry conditions, may contribute to a minor increase in daytime temperatures.

At 6:00 am on Wednesday, the recorded temperature in Dhaka was 14.4°C, while relative humidity stood at a high 85 per cent. The lowest temperature recorded in the city so far today was 13.7°C, reflecting a chilly start to the morning that is typical for this time of year.
