Indian Woman Gang Raped Inside Ongoing Van

In a horrifying incident in India’s capital, a 28-year-old woman was subjected to a group sexual assault inside a moving van for nearly two and a half hours. The victim was subsequently left injured on the roadside. Authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with the case.

According to police reports and local media accounts, the assault occurred on the night of Tuesday, 30 December, in Faridabad, Haryana. The victim had been waiting for a vehicle to return home when two young men lured her into their van under the pretext of safely escorting her. However, rather than taking her home, the van was driven towards a stretch of road near Gurgaon.

Inside the vehicle, the attackers repeatedly assaulted the woman over an extended period. After the ordeal, they abandoned her in an injured state and fled. The victim made several attempts to contact her sister and eventually managed to inform her about the assault. Family members rushed her to hospital, where doctors reported that she required between 10 to 12 stitches to her face.

While her physical condition has now stabilised, the woman remains deeply traumatised. Police have stated that her formal statement is yet to be recorded. The victim is married with three children but was living separately from her husband due to domestic disputes.

Speaking to the media, the victim’s sister recounted that the previous evening, the victim had called her around 8:30 pm to say she was visiting a friend’s home following an argument with their mother and planned to return within three hours.

Authorities have recovered the van used in the assault and arrested two men suspected of perpetrating the crime. Investigations are ongoing, and police are working to identify any other potential accomplices.
