Midland Bank Appointed Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar Deputy Managing Director

 Midland Bank PLC has officially announced the promotion of Mr Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD), effective from 1 January 2026. The appointment was confirmed through a formal statement issued by the bank on Wednesday.

Prior to this elevation, Mr Sarkar served as Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Midland Bank. Under his stewardship, the bank has made significant strides in its digital transformation initiatives, implementing robust technology policies and enhancing operational efficiency. With a distinguished career spanning 27 years, Mr Sarkar has contributed extensively to strategic planning, digital innovation, enterprise technology management, and service excellence, with a special focus on security, scalability, and cost-effective technological solutions.

Mr Sarkar also brings a wealth of international experience. In Japan, he held senior positions across leading technology and management organisations. Domestically, his notable contributions include tenures at IDLC Finance PLC, National Life Insurance, and Mutual Trust Bank PLC, where he led advancements in technology capabilities and digital banking transformation.

As Midland Bank’s CTO, his responsibilities encompassed defining the technological roadmap, strengthening digital channels, enhancing enterprise platforms, and implementing secure, scalable solutions aligned with operational resilience. Analysts predict that under his leadership, Midland Bank will accelerate digital innovation and consolidate its position in Bangladesh’s financial sector.

Educational Background
Mr Sarkar earned both his BSc (Hons) and MSc in Electronics and Computer Science from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet.
