Young Bangladeshi singer Zahed Parvez Pabel, who rose to nationwide prominence through the viral revival of the song Buk Chinchin, has entered a new chapter of his personal life. On Friday, the singer completed his wedding celebrations in Chattogram, marking a significant milestone alongside his steadily growing musical career.
Pabel first came into the spotlight four years ago when he reinterpreted Buk Chinchin using both male and female vocals. The refreshed version quickly went viral on digital platforms, earning widespread appreciation and establishing him as a promising voice among younger listeners. Following the song’s success, several of his solo and duet tracks also gained popularity, strengthening his position in the contemporary music scene.
The wedding ceremonies were held in a warm, family-centred setting at a convention centre in the port area of Chattogram. Pabel’s wife, Tanzima Islam, is a student at a private college in the city. According to the singer, the marriage was arranged through mutual family consent, with personal understanding and compatibility playing a central role.
Speaking to the media, Pabel explained that his family had been encouraging him to settle down for several months. “At a certain point, everything came together naturally through our families. Tanzima was also my choice. After getting to know each other, I felt she would be the right life partner for the journey ahead. I am genuinely happy and grateful to have found such a person through my family’s decision,” he said.
The marriage contract (Aqd) was completed earlier on Friday in the presence of close relatives from both families, followed by wedding celebrations later that evening. Despite the joyous occasion, Pabel remains fully focused on his professional commitments.
He revealed that several new songs recorded in his voice are currently ready for release and will be shared with audiences at the right time. In addition, he is expected to lend his voice to multiple television drama soundtracks in the near future, reflecting his growing demand within the industry.
Pabel’s journey into music was not shaped by family tradition. No one in his immediate family is directly involved in music. His passion began during his secondary school years, inspired by listening to songs by renowned artist Habib Wahid. While friends spent their leisure time socialising or playing sports, Pabel dedicated himself to practising music and nurturing his dream of becoming a singer.
Nearly fourteen years ago, he moved to Dhaka to pursue music professionally. After completing his undergraduate degree at a private university, he has spent the past four years fully committed to music. Throughout this journey, his greatest sources of encouragement have been his mother and elder brother.
It is worth noting that Buk Chinchin was originally written by lyricist Kabir Bakul and performed by the legendary Andrew Kishore and Dolly Sayantani in the film Bastob, directed by Badiul Alam. The song was later reused in director Mahidul Mahim’s drama Shilpi, where Pabel’s rendition gained renewed acclaim. The drama starred Afran Nisho and Mehazabien Chowdhury in leading roles.
