Dhaka Bank appoints new Managing Director and CEO

Dhaka Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Osman Ershad Faiz as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant step in the bank’s strategic growth and digital transformation agenda. Faiz brings over three decades of international banking experience, having held senior leadership roles in renowned financial institutions across Asia and beyond.

With a career spanning operations, banking strategy, technology, digital innovation, and fintech, Faiz is well-positioned to guide Dhaka Bank through an increasingly complex financial landscape. His appointment is widely seen as a move to strengthen governance, accelerate digitalisation, and enhance operational excellence within the institution.

Faiz has been widely recognised for his leadership in technology and his commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces. He received the prestigious “Legend” Award at the World CIO 200 Summit in 2023 and has featured multiple times in the HERoes Global Role Model lists, supported by INvolve, the Financial Times, and Yahoo Finance, for his advocacy of women in business.

An alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, Faiz holds a BCom (Honours) and an MBA, alongside executive education from INSEAD and Oxford’s Saïd Business School. He began his professional journey at American Express in 1993 as a management trainee.
