Winter Weather Forecast: Five-Day Outlook Released By BMD

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a detailed five-day weather forecast, covering the period from Monday morning at 9:00 am. According to the department, temperatures across the country are expected to remain largely stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain areas. Isolated light rainfall is forecast for some parts of the Rangpur Division, while the remainder of the country is likely to experience mostly dry conditions under partly cloudy skies.

The forecast indicates that during nights and early mornings, light to moderate fog may develop in several regions, particularly in the western and southeastern districts. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain relatively unchanged, maintaining the usual winter chill, while night-time temperatures may rise slightly in certain areas.

The detailed temperature and weather variations for the upcoming five days are as follows:

Day Night Temperature Change Day Temperature Change Special Conditions
Tuesday Nearly unchanged Nearly unchanged Light fog
Wednesday Slight increase Nearly unchanged Light rain in Rangpur
Thursday Slight increase Nearly unchanged Persistent fog possible
Friday Slight increase Slight decrease Partly cloudy skies
Saturday Stable Stable Typical winter conditions

According to BMD’s extended forecast, no significant changes in temperature or weather patterns are expected during this five-day period. However, the department cautions that fog may become slightly denser during night and early morning hours in the western and southeastern regions of the country.

Meteorologists explain that a segment of the subcontinental high-pressure system currently lies over West Bengal and its neighbouring areas. Meanwhile, the seasonal low-pressure system dominates the southern Bay of Bengal, extending a branch up to the northeastern Bay. This atmospheric configuration may cause minor instability in local weather, though no severe conditions are anticipated.

In summary, the country can expect stable winter weather throughout the week. Daytime temperatures are likely to remain largely unchanged, night-time temperatures may rise slightly, and fog may be observed in select regions. Apart from a chance of light rain in Rangpur on Wednesday, significant weather disturbances are unlikely.
