Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty is set to make her much-anticipated return to the screen after nearly six years away from acting. Her career had been significantly disrupted following the tragic and sudden death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, an event that thrust her into the eye of a prolonged and intense public and legal controversy.
During that period, Chakraborty faced numerous allegations, including involvement in drug-related cases, which led to her arrest and approximately a month-long incarceration. The ordeal effectively brought her acting career to a standstill, forcing her to step back from the camera and public life.
Now, almost six years later, Rhea is making her professional comeback through a new web series titled ‘Family Business’, recently announced by Netflix as part of its slate of upcoming original projects. The series promises to feature Rhea in a pivotal role alongside seasoned actor Anil Kapoor and popular performer Vijay Varma, adding both gravitas and contemporary appeal to the project.
Expressing her excitement over this new chapter, Rhea shared the series’ teaser on social media, which has already generated considerable buzz among fans and the industry alike. In her previous interviews, she reflected on her passion for acting, stating, “Acting is my identity. After everything, I want to return to my craft and reconnect with my audience.”
The industry and viewers will now closely watch how Rhea’s return unfolds, particularly given the long hiatus and the public attention surrounding her earlier controversies. Her successful reintegration into Bollywood could mark a notable turning point in both her personal and professional journey.
