BNP Forms 50-Member Cabinet, Invitations Sent

One of the country’s principal political parties, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has determined a preliminary structure for a 50-member cabinet as part of its preparations for forming a government, according to party sources. The draft list, prepared under the overall supervision of the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, includes 25 full ministers, 15 ministers of state and 10 deputy ministers.

Party policymakers have stated that experience, administrative competence, regional balance and women’s representation were key considerations in proposing the names. The proposed full list is presented below in tabular form.
