After a prolonged hiatus, Bangladesh’s renowned rock band, Band Six, has made a compelling comeback with the release of their new single and music video, “Bhalobashi”. Launched on Friday evening, the song is now available across all major national streaming platforms and forms part of the band’s highly anticipated second album.
The composition and lyrics of “Bhalobashi” were penned by the band’s drummer, Arif Shishir. Drawing on his personal experiences of love and heartbreak, Shishir has infused the song with profound emotion and lyrical depth. Bassist Rokhibul Romans explained that the band’s activities had been suspended since December 2015, leaving the second album on hold for several years. In 2025, however, the band members reunited to explore fresh creative directions, marking the beginning of a renewed musical journey.
Guitarist and producer Rezwan Ashraf, currently based abroad, played a pivotal role in crafting the song’s arrangement and modern rock sound, blending melodic riffs with contemporary production techniques. The accompanying music video, directed by Shawrin, beautifully merges the song’s emotional narrative with Band Six’s signature rock aesthetic, offering fans a visually and musically immersive experience.
“Bhalobashi” follows the release of the first single from the second album, “Ei To Shomoy 2”, signalling a significant creative milestone for the band and setting the tone for their forthcoming work.
Founded in 2008, Band Six first gained national recognition after winning the Nescafé Get Set Rock competition, establishing a strong foundation for rock music in Bangladesh. Over the years, they have cultivated a loyal fanbase and inspired a new generation of musicians.
