“Ronaldo, You Are Greatest Ever, Come USA”

Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo recently paid a high-profile visit to the White House, where he met with former US President Donald Trump. The encounter has now sparked fresh headlines, as Trump directly addressed Ronaldo in a public message, hailing him as the “greatest of all time” and urging him to travel to the United States without delay.

In a video shared on social media platform TikTok, Trump said: “Ronaldo, you are the greatest player ever. We want you in America. Come over, we need you urgently.” The clip was accompanied by an AI-generated visual depicting the two men playing football inside the Oval Office—a playful but striking illustration of the call to action.

International media have since speculated intensely about the reasons behind Trump’s invitation. Experts suggest the message could have multiple implications:

FIFA World Cup 2026: The tournament is scheduled to take place from 11 June to 19 July across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Trump may be encouraging Ronaldo to arrive in the US in time for the global event.

Major League Soccer (MLS) prospect: Currently playing for Saudi club Al-Nassr, Ronaldo could be the subject of interest from American clubs seeking to boost the profile of MLS.

Earlier, in November 2025, Ronaldo had publicly shared his White House meeting via Instagram, including joyful photographs with his partner Georgina Rodríguez alongside President Trump. He wrote: “I, along with my partner Georgina, thank the First Lady and you, Mr President, for such a warm welcome. Each of us can contribute meaningfully, and I am ready to help inspire the next generation to pursue courage, responsibility, and long-lasting peace.”

At 41 years old, Ronaldo continues to chase one of the most remarkable milestones in professional football: his 1,000th career goal. Defying age and expectations, he remains prolific for both his national team and Al-Nassr. As of now, he has scored 964 goals, leaving him just 36 goals shy of the historic mark.
