45th BCS: Freedom Fighter Quota Documentation Deadline Set

The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a formal directive requiring candidates provisionally recommended for cadre positions under the Freedom Fighter (FF) quota in the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) to submit their credentials for verification. In a notification released on Monday, 23 February, the ministry underscored the necessity of this administrative hurdle to ensure the transparency and legitimacy of the final recruitment phase.

The 45th BCS examination process reached a significant milestone on 27 November last year, when the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) published the final results. Out of the thousands who participated, a total of 1,807 candidates were provisionally selected across various cadres. However, for those selected under the specific quota reserved for the children and grandchildren of freedom fighters, employment is contingent upon the successful authentication of their ancestral records.

According to the official circular, candidates must fill out a prescribed form and attach all relevant certificates and supporting documentation. These materials must reach the designated branch of the Ministry of Public Administration no later than 2 March 2026. Submissions can be made either via the postal service or through direct delivery to the ministry’s relevant department.

Candidates are advised to ensure that their “Freedom Fighter Certificates” are updated and aligned with the latest government gazettes and databases. Failure to meet the 2 March deadline may result in the forfeiture of their provisional selection, as the ministry intends to expedite the induction of this batch to address manpower shortages in the administrative and technical cadres.
