Ashes Set to Launch Double Album Extravaganza

The popular Bangladeshi rock outfit Ashes is preparing to captivate fans this festive season with an ambitious double album release. Moving beyond the conventional single-album launch, the band has announced the simultaneous arrival of two distinct collections: ‘Bibhrom’ (Illusion) and ‘Danahin Pakhi’ (The Wingless Bird).

This dual release represents a decade of creative evolution, compiling tracks written and refined over the last eight to ten years. While some songs have been performed sporadically at live concerts, this marks their debut as part of a formal studio catalogue. The rollout strategy is equally methodical; two lead singles will debut on Chand Raat (the eve of Eid), followed by a weekly release of the remaining tracks.

The Philosophy of ‘Non-Material Happiness’

Frontman and lead vocalist Zunayed Evan describes the new material as a departure from the materialistic tendencies of modern life. The thematic core of both albums revolves around the concept of “non-material happiness.”

According to Evan, the lyrics explore the profound joy found in simple, intangible experiences—the rhythm of the rain, the glow of moonlight, or the sincerity of a human smile. The albums delve into existentialism and the internal conflicts individuals face when trying to find peace in a mechanical, consumer-driven world.

Unconventional ‘Listening Parties’

Breaking away from standard promotional tours, Ashes plans to take their fans on a journey—quite literally. Following the Eid festivities, the band intends to host intimate “listening parties” in the serene environments of the mountains and by the sea.

“We want to escape the city noise,” Evan remarked. “In these sessions, the audience won’t just listen; we will sing together, and we will share the untold stories behind the composition of each track.”

A Commitment to Humanity: ‘Manusher Jonno’

Parallel to their commercial releases, Ashes is continuing their philanthropic project, ‘Manusher Jonno’ (For the People). This initiative is a ten-track album where 100% of the proceeds are donated to medical funds for patients suffering from cancer, kidney failure, and paralysis. No band member accepts a performance fee or royalty from this project. Between the release of the two main albums, a new track from this humanitarian project will also be unveiled to keep the momentum for charitable aid alive.

Album Title Number of Tracks Primary Theme
Bibhrom 9 Illusion and Existential Conflict
Danahin Pakhi 8 Freedom and Simple Joys
Manusher Jonno 10 (Ongoing) Humanitarian Aid / Medical Charity

European Tour and Current Line-up

The band’s reach is expanding globally, with a confirmed European tour scheduled for May 2026. Ashes is set to perform in Rome and Venice, Italy, as well as Paris, France. Due to a demanding domestic schedule, the band has limited this tour to two weeks, focusing on these three major cultural hubs before returning to fulfil local commitments.

The Current Ashes Line-up:

Zunayed Evan: Vocals

Sultan Rafsan Khan: Guitar

Wahid Uz Zaman Turjo: Bass Guitar

Adnan Bin Zaman: Keyboards

Taufique Ahmed Bijoy: Drums
