Man Murdered by ‘TikToker’ Wife in Ramu

A harrowing discovery in the Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar has left the local community in shock after the decomposed remains of a young man were recovered from a rented residence. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Belal Uddin Jihad (also known as Badal), is believed to have been murdered by his wife, Tahera Begum Akhi, 36, following a protracted domestic dispute.

The grim discovery was made at approximately 12:30 on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, in the Merongloa area of Fatekharkul Union. Neighbours alerted the authorities after a pungent, “unbearable stench” began emanating from the flat where the couple had resided for the past five months. Upon entering the premises, local residents found Belal’s partially decomposed body and immediately summoned the Ramu Police.

Preliminary forensic observations suggest that the victim had been dead for at least three to four days. Investigators suspect that Tahera, a well-known local social media personality active on the TikTok platform, smothered her husband with a pillow while he was incapacitated or asleep.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramu Police Station, Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, confirmed that the body has been sent to the morgue for a formal post-mortem examination. “We have prepared the initial inquest report,” the OC stated. “The state of decomposition suggests the crime took place several days ago. Our primary objective now is the apprehension of the fugitive suspect, who remains at large.”
