Fatal Collision Claims Young Carpenter

A young carpenter lost his life in a tragic road accident on Thursday morning after a motorcycle collided head-on with a dump truck along a regional highway in Manikganj district. The fatal crash occurred at approximately half past ten in the morning near the Palra bus stand on the Manikganj–Singair regional road, sending shockwaves through the local community and reigniting concerns about road safety in the area.

The victim, identified as Roman, aged twenty-five, was a resident of Mitra village under the Betila Mitra union of Manikganj Sadar upazila. He was the son of Hazrat Ali and worked professionally as a skilled carpenter. Family members and neighbours described him as a hardworking and humble individual who regularly travelled to different locations in search of employment to support his household.

According to local residents, Roman had set out earlier that morning and was returning home to Mitra village from the Outpara area on his motorcycle. As he approached the Palra bus stand, his motorcycle reportedly collided directly with a dump truck travelling from the opposite direction at considerable speed. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the motorcycle badly damaged and causing critical injuries to the young rider.

Witnesses stated that people from nearby shops and homes rushed to the scene immediately after the crash in an attempt to assist the injured man. However, the injuries he sustained were so serious that he died at the scene before any medical assistance could reach him. The sudden tragedy created panic and confusion in the surrounding area for some time as local residents gathered along the roadside.
