The actress shared that Swift, her close friend since 2008, presented her with a handmade painting to commemorate her 30th birthday. Appearing on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast on Tuesday, Gomez described the exquisite artwork in detail.

“She did it on an actual cloth, and she painted a beautiful lake,” Gomez explained. “It was at night, and the moon was shining, with stars scattered across the sky. She even included our exact star signs—hers being Sagittarius and mine Cancer. Then she hand-sewed the message, ‘Here’s to the next 30 years. From Taylor to Selena.’ Every single letter was meticulously sewn by hand.”

Gomez, 33, described the gift as “the sweetest gift” she had ever received. Beyond the visual beauty of the piece, Swift, 36, also hand-wrote lyrics from a song she composed about Gomez. While Gomez did not specify which lyrics were included during the podcast, she confirmed that Swift wrote Dorothea with her in mind, as well as a previously unreleased “vault track” entitled Family that celebrates their enduring friendship.

Gomez’s husband, producer Benny Blanco, joined her on the podcast and expressed his astonishment upon seeing the painting. “She pulls out this piece of art, and I’m like, ‘Ah, this is perfect for the living room,’” he recounted. “I asked, ‘Who made this painting?’ It’s one of the best paintings I’ve ever seen.”

The two singers first met in 2008 while dating members of the Jonas Brothers—Gomez with Nick Jonas and Swift with Joe Jonas. Recalling their early friendship on the Therapuss podcast last August, Gomez reflected, “It was cute.
