A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday morning in Akkelpur, Joypurhat, when a 21-year-old man was struck and killed by a Dhaka-bound Chilahat Express train while walking along the railway line with headphones on.

The victim, Rimon Hossain, a resident of Halir Mor area in Akkelpur, was the son of Babu Hossain. He worked as a labourer at a local poultry farm and was reportedly returning from a nearby area when the incident occurred.

According to local witnesses, Rimon was walking along the railway tracks around 8:30 a.m., wearing headphones, which likely prevented him from hearing the approaching train. The Chilahat Express, travelling at high speed towards Dhaka, struck him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Residents immediately alerted the railway police, who arrived promptly to recover the body.

The railway authorities have confirmed that the body was sent to the local hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. The incident is under investigation, and appropriate legal measures are being taken.
