Khairul Basar, one of the most familiar faces on television this Eid, shared his excitement about the festival season and upcoming projects in a recent conversation with News Media. While he will be celebrating Eid abroad, Basar emphasised that his work keeps him intimately connected to his audience.
Spending Eid Abroad
“I’ll be in Australia this Eid,” Basar revealed. “I’m starting work there from the 25th, so I had to leave a little earlier than usual.” Despite the distance, the actor is thrilled to see his festival projects reaching viewers across multiple channels.
A Festival Brimming with Projects
This Eid, Basar will feature in several projects, including Bheja Chokh, Dear Family, Jolkouri, and Agle Rekho Amay. In total, he expects around eight to ten releases, spread across different television networks.
| Project Title | Co-stars | Notes on Production |
|---|---|---|
| Bheja Chokh | – | Basar’s personal favourite this Eid |
| Dear Family | Sunerah Binte Kamal | Filming was a rewarding experience |
| Jolkouri | – | One of the highly anticipated projects |
| Agle Rekho Amay | – | Close to Basar’s heart |
| Motshokonnya | Safa Kabir | Included physically demanding sea and pool scenes |
| Projects with Payel & Totini | – | Variety of roles across different shows |
| Eta Amaderi Golpo | – | 52-episode ongoing series, widely acclaimed |
Memorable Experiences and Fan Moments
Among these, Motshokonnya, featuring Safa Kabir, was physically demanding, with underwater and sea sequences. Basar described the shoot as “challenging but immensely enjoyable.” He also praised his work on Dear Family with Sunerah Binte Kamal, noting the positive collaborative experience.
The actor highlighted the special bond he shares with viewers: “The most heartwarming part is that even children recognise me now. Families watch the show together, and kids often get really excited when they see me. Their parents sometimes bring them over to take photos with ‘Samir’—that makes everything worthwhile.”
Special Eid Episodes
Basar confirmed that Eta Amaderi Golpo will feature a longer episode for Eid, with another special possibly planned for the next festival. “It’s not exactly a second season, but a standalone drama that keeps the beloved family alive on screen,” he explained.
Upcoming Work in Australia
In Australia, Basar will collaborate with Rubel Hasan on two new projects—a romantic comedy and a love story—both co-starring Totini. “We’re finalising the scripts, and working with a local cinematographer should bring a fresh visual perspective,” he added.
With an impressive line-up this Eid, Khairul Basar continues to captivate audiences, both at home and abroad, while creating memorable moments for viewers of all ages.
