Nora Fatehi Clarifies Position Amid Song Ban Controversy

Bollywood’s glamour icon, Nora Fatehi, has addressed the controversy surrounding the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke”, which she performed alongside megastar Sanjay Dutt in the film K.D. The Devil. Following widespread public outrage over the song’s lyrics and visuals, the Government of India has officially banned the track, citing concerns about its content.

The ban came after viewers expressed strong objections to both the lyrical content and the depiction in the music video, prompting authorities to intervene. Social media was flooded with debates and criticism, making the controversy one of the most discussed entertainment topics in recent weeks.

Amid the growing public scrutiny, Nora released a video statement to clarify her stance. She revealed that she was unaware of the song’s Hindi adaptation prior to its release. According to her, she had originally shot the track three years ago in Kannada, under the title “Sarsi Ninna”.

“It was a large-scale project with Sanjay Dutt as a co-star, and I was eager to be part of it. But I had no idea that the song would later be released in Hindi as ‘Sarke Chunar’ and spark such controversy,” Nora stated.

She emphasised that she did not intend to endorse any inappropriate or controversial content. “When the song was released in Hindi, I had no knowledge that it would provoke such a backlash. I want to make it clear that I do not support any offensive material,” she said.

The production team ultimately decided to remove the song from circulation in response to the public outcry. Nora appealed to her fans for understanding, asking them to learn the full story behind the song and refrain from sharing it further.

“Please understand the real story behind the song. Don’t fall for misunderstandings. I request everyone not to spread it further,” she added.

The song has now been removed from all major digital platforms. Despite Nora’s clarifying statement, criticism and discussions surrounding the track continue to persist online, reflecting the lasting impact of the controversy.
