Meta Offers Up to $3,000 Monthly to Creators

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has launched a new initiative aimed at attracting online video creators to its platform. Dubbed the “Content Fast Track” programme, the scheme allows popular creators from TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram to earn up to $3,000 per month by posting short-form videos, or Reels, on Facebook.

Under the programme, creators with at least one million followers on other platforms are eligible to apply. Selected participants are required to upload a minimum of 15 Reels per month, providing consistent content for Meta’s growing audience.

Currently, the programme is limited to creators in the United States and Canada and will provide payments for a maximum period of three months. Creators with fewer than one million followers can still participate, though their monthly earnings are capped at $1,000.

Meta highlighted that in 2025, it paid approximately $3 billion to creators through various monetisation initiatives. With Content Fast Track, the company aims to expand its creator base on Facebook and increase engagement on Reels, positioning itself more competitively against rival platforms.

However, the programme has prompted some scepticism among industry experts. Jordan Schwarzengerger, manager of the content creator group SideMen, described the initiative as “somewhat desperate” or mandatory. He pointed out that established creators typically earn more from brand deals or YouTube than they would under this scheme.

Schwarzengerger further explained, “$3,000 for 15 videos works out to roughly $200 per video. In many cases, that wouldn’t even cover production costs.”

Despite these concerns, participants will also benefit from Facebook’s monetisation tools, which allow creators to earn based on views and watch time, potentially increasing overall income.

Meta’s latest initiative underscores the growing competition among social media platforms to secure high-profile creators and keep audiences engaged with short-form video content. While the earnings may be modest relative to industry standards for top creators, the programme provides an opportunity for emerging talents to monetise their work and gain exposure on one of the world’s largest social networks.
