Zubaida Rahman, spouse of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has embarked on a journey to the United States to attend the high-profile “Fostering the Future Together” summit at the invitation of U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. The summit, bringing together spouses of world leaders, focuses on promoting safe and innovative educational opportunities for children.

On Sunday, 22 March, Zubaida Rahman departed from Dhaka aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, with a scheduled stopover in the United Kingdom before continuing to Washington, D.C.

The international gathering aims to explore how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can enhance learning experiences while ensuring children’s safety online. Key areas of discussion include teacher and parent training, creation of secure digital learning environments, and strategies to provide equitable access to educational tools worldwide.

According to the White House, leading technology companies participating in the summit have agreed to provide access to their platforms and innovations at minimal or no cost to participating countries. Delegates are expected to evaluate these technologies in line with their national contexts and coordinate with their respective governments to implement the most suitable solutions.
