Pakistan Day Marked in Dhaka

Pakistan’s National Day was commemorated in Dhaka with due ceremony and diplomatic decorum, as the Pakistan High Commission hosted a formal observance highlighting the historical and political significance of the occasion.

The event took place on Monday, 23 March, bringing together members of the Pakistani expatriate community, students, representatives of civil society, and local media personnel. They reiterated continued moral, political, and diplomatic support for the people of the region, often referred to by Pakistan as Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Expressions of solidarity were also extended to the people of Palestine, reflecting Pakistan’s longstanding position on international humanitarian and political issues. Additionally, references were made to ‘Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq’, described as a symbol of national resolve against terrorism and unprovoked aggression, reinforcing the country’s emphasis on sovereignty and security.

In his address, High Commissioner Imran Haider conveyed warm greetings to Pakistani nationals residing in Bangladesh and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the founding leaders. He emphasised the importance of preserving the ideals envisioned by Muhammad Ali Jinnah and called for renewed collective efforts to build a strong, progressive, and prosperous Pakistan.
