Young Man Found Dead in Pond After Disappearance

In a tragic incident in Madaripur, police recovered the body of 22-year-old Rajin Yasar Sami from a pond near the District Food Office, one day after he went missing. The discovery was made on Tuesday morning (24 March) at around 9:00 am when locals noticed the body floating and alerted authorities.

Rajin Yasar Sami, the son of Enayet Hossain, was a resident of the Pathokkandi area of Madaripur town. According to police and family members, Sami left his home on Monday afternoon and did not return. Concerned for his safety, his family filed a missing person report at Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station.

Upon receiving the alert on Tuesday morning, police and fire service personnel retrieved the body from the pond and sent it to Madaripur 250-Bed District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. The Officer-in-Charge of Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station, Abul Kalam Azad, stated that Sami was mentally challenged. Preliminary reports suggest that he may have accidentally fallen into the pond while standing near its edge and was unable to get out.
