Teenager Killed in Trolley Accident

A 15-year-old boy, identified as Rony Hossain, was killed after being run over by a brick-laden trolley in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna district on Sunday morning. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 9:30 am in Kuwabashi village under the Failjana ইউনিয়ন, according to local sources and police.

Rony Hossain, the son of Rubel Hossain, was a resident of the same village where the accident took place. Witnesses reported that the teenager had been walking along a road near his home when the tragedy unfolded. A trolley carrying bricks approached from the opposite direction, and the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The trolley then struck and ran over the boy, resulting in his death at the scene.

Local residents described the incident as sudden and devastating, noting that the narrow rural road and lack of traffic regulation measures may have contributed to the severity of the accident. Immediately after the collision, the driver fled the scene with the trolley, evading capture.

Police from Chatmohar Police Station were dispatched to the location shortly after the incident was reported. Officer-in-Charge Golam Mostofa confirmed that law enforcement personnel visited the scene and began preliminary inquiries. He stated that legal action would be initiated upon receiving a formal complaint.

Road accidents involving informal or locally modified vehicles, such as trolleys used for transporting construction materials, are not uncommon in rural areas. These vehicles often lack proper safety features and are sometimes operated without adequate training or licensing, increasing the risk of accidents.

The death of Rony Hossain has sparked concern among local residents, who are calling for stricter monitoring of such वाहicles and improved road safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
