Meghna Life Insurance Hands Over Death Claim

Meghna Life Insurance PLC’s Islamic Insurance (Takaful) Division has settled a death claim worth Tk 30,51,200 in Bogura, as part of its routine claims settlement programme.

The cheque was formally handed over on Sunday (19 April) at a ceremony organised at Hotel Castle Saoad in Bogura city. The payment was made to Ms Akhiyara Khatun, the nominee of the late policyholder Mr Majnur Rahman.

The event was organised by the Bogura Zonal Office of Meghna Life Insurance PLC and brought together company officials, invited guests, and representatives from different media outlets. Senior officials of the organisation were present during the cheque handover ceremony.

Mr Mohammad Tareq FCA, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Meghna Life Insurance PLC, attended the programme as chief guest. During his address, he emphasised the company’s continued commitment to maintaining policyholders’ trust and ensuring timely settlement of valid insurance claims. He stated that protecting the financial security of customers and their families remains a core responsibility of the institution.

He also highlighted the organisation’s overall performance in claims settlement. According to information provided at the event, Meghna Life Insurance PLC has so far paid a total of Tk 4,428 crore in insurance claims. Within this total, death claims have been paid to the families of 18,822 policyholders, reflecting the company’s long-term claims settlement activities.

The Takaful division, under which the claim was processed, operates in line with Islamic insurance principles, which are designed to provide financial protection while adhering to Shariah-based guidelines.

The ceremony in Bogura formed part of the company’s broader initiative to formally hand over claims to beneficiaries through zonal offices, ensuring direct communication between the organisation and policyholders’ families.
