The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has signed a group insurance agreement with the Protective Islami Life Insurance, establishing a formal arrangement intended to provide insurance-linked benefits to members of the university community. The agreement creates a structured mechanism through which selected healthcare and insurance services will be made available to eligible individuals associated with the institution.
According to the agreement, policyholders linked with AIUB will be entitled to a set of insurance and healthcare benefits offered by Protective Islami Life Insurance. These include hospital cashback facilities, discounted rates on diagnostic tests, life insurance coverage, and accident insurance protection. The arrangement is designed to combine financial risk coverage with access to healthcare-related cost relief within a single framework.
The coverage is intended to extend across different categories of the university community. This includes students, academic staff, and administrative personnel. Through the introduction of this group insurance structure, the agreement aims to provide a level of financial protection that supports healthcare affordability and offers defined compensation mechanisms in the event of illness or accidental injury.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials representing both organisations. From AIUB, the participants included Professor Dr Tajul Islam, Professor Dr Md Abdur Rahman, and Md Khondaker Sabbir Kabir. From Protective Islami Life Insurance, the attendees included Dr Kishore Biswas and Md Shahidul Islam, along with other senior representatives from both sides.
The agreement reflects a formal collaboration between an academic institution and an insurance provider, structured to deliver defined benefits under a group policy framework. Such arrangements typically enable institutions to centralise insurance coverage for their members while ensuring access to pre-agreed financial and healthcare support services.
