The Argentina national football team has officially commenced its final preparations for the upcoming World Cup. An initial contingent of 18 players departed from Argentina on a dedicated chartered flight to head towards their primary training base in the United States. According to sports journalist Diego Monroig, this group of 18 players travelled together to establish the foundation of the squad’s pre-tournament camp in Kansas City.
The reigning world champions, managed by head coach Lionel Scaloni, selected Kansas City as their primary base camp to conduct all major warm-up sessions and tactical preparations. Official training is scheduled to begin on 1 June at Sporting Kansas City’s state-of-the-art facility, the Compass Minerals National Performance Centre.
Squad Distribution and Travel Arrangements
The entire provisional squad did not travel together on the chartered flight from Argentina. While 18 footballers made the journey from the homeland, eight key members of the team—including captain Lionel Messi—did not board the flight. These individuals are scheduled to travel independently from their respective current locations and will join the rest of the squad directly at the Kansas City training base.

To fine-tune their tactics and assess player fitness, Argentina will participate in two international friendly matches prior to the start of the tournament.
