Israeli Strike in Gaza City Kills Mother and Three Daughters

A woman and her three daughters were reportedly killed in an Israeli strike on a house in Gaza City, despite an ongoing ceasefire, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The attack reportedly took place in the early hours of Tuesday on Al-Thalathini Street in the southern part of Gaza City. The deaths have added to growing concerns over the continuing violence in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinian authorities say Israeli military operations have persisted despite the ceasefire that came into effect on 10 October 2025.

The reported strike has also renewed attention on the fragile nature of the ceasefire arrangement. Palestinian officials have repeatedly accused Israel of carrying out attacks in Gaza since the truce began, while the humanitarian situation across the territory remains critical after years of intense fighting and widespread destruction.

According to figures cited by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 1,158 Palestinians have been killed and another 3,756 injured in attacks that authorities have described as ceasefire violations. The figures reportedly reflect casualties recorded since the truce took effect and underline the scale of violence that has continued despite the formal cessation of hostilities.

The conflict has also brought major changes to the territorial situation inside Gaza. Citing Israeli officials, reports said Israeli forces controlled around 53 per cent of the Gaza Strip when the October 2025 ceasefire agreement was implemented. That figure has since risen to more than 70 per cent, according to the same accounts.

The latest deaths come against the backdrop of a conflict that has caused an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the densely populated coastal territory. Gaza’s Ministry of Health has reported that at least 73,250 Palestinians have been killed and 173,751 wounded since Israel began its military campaign on 8 October 2023.

The prolonged conflict has devastated homes, hospitals, schools, roads and other essential facilities. Gaza’s health authorities have estimated that around 90 per cent of the territory’s civilian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, leaving millions of people dependent on humanitarian assistance and facing severe shortages of essential services.

The reported killing of the mother and her three daughters highlights the continued vulnerability of civilians, particularly families living in densely populated urban areas. With the ceasefire remaining fragile and reports of further attacks continuing, the humanitarian toll in Gaza remains a major concern for international relief organisations and the wider international community.
