Emergency workers in the Gaza Strip have recovered nineteen bodies, the majority of whom are women and children, from beneath the ruins of a targeted residential structure in western Gaza City. Mohammad Abu Dan, the official overseeing the operation, announced the conclusion of the search at the site. He confirmed that civil defence personnel and specialised medical teams are immediately shifting their focus to another hit location within Gaza City to begin searching for additional casualties.

Rescue workers have persistently raised concerns regarding the severe lack of essential infrastructure and heavy machinery needed to move reinforced concrete debris. Without access to excavators, cranes, or heavy lifting tools, responders are routinely forced to dig through tons of twisted rebar and shattered concrete using basic hand tools and their bare hands.

Severe Resource Shortages Hamper Emergency Operations

According to figures from the local Ministry of Health, more than 8,000 people across the enclave remain unaccounted for, believed to be buried under the vast expanse of destroyed architecture. The ongoing shortages of fuel, clean water, and heavy rescue equipment continue to hamper the civil defence sector, severely limiting their capacity to conduct large-scale extraction efforts simultaneously across multiple sites.
