Viral Video: Wife of Arrested “Notorious Criminal” Boasts She’ll use Bundles of Money to Free Husband

A video clip has gone viral on Facebook, showing Tamanna Sharmin, wife of Chattogram’s notorious criminal Sazzad Hossain, making bold claims about securing his release and issuing threats following his arrest.

In the video, Tamanna Sharmin can be heard saying, “We have lots of money. We will spend bundles of money and free my husband. Those who did this will not be spared.”

She further claimed that Sazzad, who faces 17 criminal cases, would be out on bail within 10 to 12 days, dismissing any concerns about his imprisonment.

“My husband was arrested on Saturday (March 15) night, but there is nothing to worry about. Since he has lawsuits against him, he will surely be arrested. My sympathy to those who think he won’t be freed from jail,” she was heard saying in the video.

Sharmin was also heard issuing warnings to unidentified individuals, saying, “We had gone into hiding for a long time. Now, it’s your turn to go into hiding.”

Sazzad Hossain, who hails from Chattogram, was arrested around 10:00 PM on Saturday at a shopping mall in Dhaka.

His arrest comes months after the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) placed a bounty on him following his threats against Bayezid Bostami Police Station Officer-in-Charge on Facebook Live.

On July 17 last year, police in Chandgaon, Chattogram, arrested Sazzad with firearms, but he was released on bail the following month. When law enforcement attempted to re-arrest him on December 4, he opened fire at the police and managed to escape.
