Top US Military Official Meets Army Chief in Dhaka

A high-level US military delegation led by Lieutenant General Joel B. Vowell, Deputy Commander of the United States Army Pacific Command, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman at Army Headquarters in Dhaka Cantonment today.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening defense cooperation and deepening the partnership between Bangladesh and the United States. Key topics included enhancing military capabilities and exploring new areas of collaboration.

Lieutenant General Vowell commended the Bangladesh Army for its exceptional service in United Nations peacekeeping missions, lauding their professionalism, discipline, and global impact. He also expressed appreciation for the Army’s ongoing support in domestic Aid to Civil Power operations.

Tracey Ann Jacobson, Chargé d’affaires at the US Embassy in Dhaka, also attended the meeting.
