A young man was apprehended while attempting to re-enter a Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar disguised as a woman. The suspect, dressed in a black hijab, burqa, and gloves with socks covering his hands and feet, was intercepted by police at a checkpoint due to suspicious behaviour.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night (23 July) at the Shalbagan Checkpost in Hnila Union, Teknaf Upazila. Upon questioning, it was revealed that the individual was not a woman but a male Rohingya camp resident attempting to return to the camp unnoticed.

Police Statement
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Giyas Uddin of Teknaf Model Police Station stated:
“The man appeared suspicious while dressed in a burqa. Upon interrogation, he could not respond confidently, which raised our suspicions. Further search revealed his true identity.”
Police suspect that Rashid may have been involved in criminal activities outside the camp. His attempt to return undetected suggests an intention to evade law enforcement. He is currently under interrogation, and legal actions are underway.
