National Life Insurance Settles Claims Worth 72.5 Million Taka

National Life Insurance Company Limited, one of the premier life insurance providers in Bangladesh, has disbursed insurance claims totalling 72.5 million BDT during a major corporate convention held at Narsingdi. Organised jointly by the company’s Greater Dhaka, Gouripur, Brahmanbaria, and Sylhet administrative areas, the event combined claim settlements with an annual performance conference and awards ceremony.
The gathering took place on Wednesday at the Dream Holiday Park in Narsingdi, drawing nearly 5,000 corporate officers, field managers, and financial executives from various zones across the four regions. In addition to settling maturity and death claims for policyholders, the company recognised top-performing development officers who met their premium collection targets over the preceding financial period.
Tofazzal Hossain, Chairman of National Life Insurance, attended the event as the chief guest and formally handed over claim cheques to policyholders alongside awards to successful personnel. The conference was presided over by Chief Executive Officer Md Kazim Uddin. Senior executives in attendance included Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Prabir Chandra Das FCA, Deputy Managing Director Md Abul Kashem, and Deputy Managing Director Bahar Uddin Mazumder.
In his address to the assembly, Chairman Tofazzal Hossain stated that the company’s commitment to honesty, professional integrity, and prompt customer service has established it as a market leader within the domestic insurance sector. He affirmed that safeguarding public savings and settling claims in a timely manner remain central to the firm’s operational ethics.
Detailing the organisation’s broader economic role, Chief Executive Officer Md Kazim Uddin noted that National Life Insurance has contributed to the national economy for 42 years. He highlighted that premiums collected from policyholders are securely invested in commercial banks, financial institutions, and government bonds, generating steady financial returns. Furthermore, the company contributes substantial revenues to the national exchequer each year through corporate taxes, Value Added Tax (VAT), and stamp duties, strengthening the country’s fiscal framework.
