The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has officially submitted its financial audit report for the year 1 January to 31 December 2024 to the Election Commission (EC), in accordance with the Representation of the People Order (RPO).

A delegation, led by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, submitted the party’s audited financial statement to EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed.

According to the report, BNP’s income was derived from the following:

  • Financial assistance to various individuals
  • Relief distribution in flood-affected areas across districts
  • Printing of posters and leaflets
  • Hall rentals for public meetings and discussions
  • Newspaper supplement printing
  • Iftar gatherings during Ramadan
  • Various official and administrative costs

Rizvi told reporters that the report was transparent, with all sources and uses of funds clearly outlined to the commission.

EC’s Compliance Reminder

The Election Commission reminded that, as per law, all 50 registered political parties (excluding the Awami League whose registration remains suspended) must submit their audit reports for 2024 by 31 July 2025. Failure to do so for three consecutive years may result in cancellation of registration.

This submission reinforces BNP’s compliance with the RPO and the transparency required by political parties in managing and reporting their finances.
