Government Forces Four Senior Police DIGs into Compulsory Retirement

The Government of Bangladesh has enforced the compulsory retirement of four senior officials from the police force.

On Monday, 28 July, the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Public Security Division issued separate gazette notifications to this effect. The orders, made in accordance with a Presidential directive, were signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani.

According to the notifications, the retirement of the officers has been enforced in the public interest under the relevant provisions of the Public Service Act. The officers will remain entitled to retirement benefits as per regulations.

The government declared that the order has been issued in the public interest and shall come into immediate effect.
