Eleven Detained With Weapons At Narail District Court

Police have apprehended eleven individuals carrying domestic weapons within the premises of the Narail District Court. The arrests took place on Sunday afternoon when law enforcement officers raided a lawyer’s chamber located inside the court compound. The possession of lethal weapons within a sensitive judicial establishment has sparked significant concern regarding security protocols surrounding the court premises.
The detained individuals have been identified as Eskendar Sheikh, 55; Aminur Sikdar, 56; Hafez Sheikh, 25; Tayebur Rahman, 55; Sekendar Ali, 45; Hasanur Rahman, 55; Riazul Sikdar, 22; Ariful Sheikh, 22; Tareq Sheikh, 32; Zulfikar Mollya, 45; and Shariful Mollya, 40. All eleven men are residents of Charkandipara village, located within the Kalabaria Union under the jurisdiction of Naragati Police Station in Narail.
According to police sources, the suspects had arrived at the district court to appear for a scheduled hearing regarding an earlier brawl case registered at Naragati Police Station. While waiting for their proceedings inside the advocate’s office, Narail Sadar Police received a confidential tip-off detailing the presence of concealed weapons within the chamber. Acting swiftly on the information, a police contingent conducted a targeted search of the premises.
During the operation, officers recovered twelve improvised weapons, including machetes, cleavers, and large local knives. The suspects were immediately taken into custody alongside the seized items and transferred to the local police station for questioning.
Russell Sarwar, Officer-in-Charge of Narail Sadar Police Station, confirmed the arrests and stated that formal legal proceedings were being initiated against the suspects. He added that investigators are thoroughly examining the incident to determine whether the individuals intended to incite violence, intimidate opposing parties, or commit a premeditated assault within the court premises. Security around the judicial complex has since been heightened following the breach.
