Two young schoolgirls tragically drowned in the Narsunda River at Ashtaka Manikpur village, located in Gundhar Union under Karimganj Upazila of Kishoreganj District, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to local reports, the girls went to bathe in the river following their return from school. Unfortunately, both accidentally drowned during the activity.
Their bodies were recovered by local residents after a prolonged search effort.
Sheikh Mohammad Mahbub Morshed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimganj Police Station, has confirmed the incident.
The community is mourning the loss of the two young lives, and authorities have urged parents and guardians to ensure children remain safe near water bodies, particularly during the monsoon season.
