Singapore adopted a patient approach initially before gradually seizing control of the tempo. Their tactical patience paid off in the 36th minute when a swift build-up down the left flank caught the Bangladeshi defence out of position. A precise cross delivered into the penalty area found Stewart, who controlled the ball before dispatching a firm finish past Bangladesh goalkeeper Mehedi Hasan Srabon.
Trailing by a goal at the interval, Bangladesh pushed forward with greater urgency during the second half. Jamal Bhuyan and Morsalin attempted to orchestrate attacks from midfield, but Singapore’s disciplined defensive line effectively neutralized every threat.
